I was not able to find a site to give me a lot of historical information on the Wermuth surname origin. I will post what I have found and suggest that anyone with more information forward it to me.

Wermuth name origin: 1. metonymic occupational name for someone who gathered or dealt in herbs, from Middle High German wërmuot ‘wormwood’. 2. perhaps also from the Germanic personal name Warmut.
